Now listen you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business, and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow, what is you life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “if it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”
Has there ever been a time in your life you just know you are heading in the right direction? You even feel you have confirmation from God, the Holy Sprit, everywhere you turn, and you see signs that point you to that direction.
You would have the right to feel you are in the middle of God’s will, or so it would seem. But when that changes and a wall is put in your path, you can no longer go that way; what do you do with the feeling you had of the sureness of being in God’s will?
Good Question right!
So did you misread everything you had felt; did you let the human side take over like in James and make plans that God was not really part of; or was it a test to see if you are willing to listen to His will in your life and step outside of your box.
The answer is hard; you have a choice, now are you going to be angry with God and turn your back on Him or are you going to accept that His plans for you are not always set out and clear cut.
There are plenty of examples of God asking people in the Bible to go and do something that doesn’t even make sense to us now, but they did it, and God blessed them.
My point is: God is the same today, yesterday, and tomorrow He is never changing, so if He tested the faith of His followers then, why would we believe that we are above being tested now?
Food for thought.
