Two are better than one.

Gods word said that two are better than one because they have a good reward for their efforts. For if either falls, his companion can lift him up; but pity the one who falls without another to lift him up. Also, if two lie down together, they can keep warm; but how can one person alone keep warm? And if someone overpowers one person, tow can resist him. A cord of three strands is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12.all done

As I read this today it made me stop and think about who are the two that this verse is talking about? Is it like me and my husband then adding God as the third strand?

God should always be the first strand that you cling too, life does not have us all in a marriage relationship and that is not what this verse is talking about, it is talking about having a person in your life as a companion. (Not a lover outside of marriage for that is a sin against God)  I know the world has changed to way we look at companion, but it use to mean some one you could count on to be there for you in times of trouble, in times of fun or just to be there to walk with you in life.

We have moved into a world were we are all called to be so depended on yourself, we forget that there are people will to help carry the load and share there warm, help keep us safe we just have to let them in.

Do you have someone that you can call in the middle of the night, who would come running? Take stock of the people you surround yourself with.  Do they know God in their hearts, if not then how do you trust them with yours.

That is not to say all of your friends have to be saved, we need to have people in our lives we are share Christ with, but in times when you need a companion you need to call on the family of God for your help.

Does any of this make sense to you? You don’t go to the world for help when God is on your side.  These are just my thoughts, feel free to share yours.
